Cherry of the Rio Grande, Eugenia involucrata. Small multi-branching tree or shrub. In the spring it is one of our early flowering tropical fruits and often blossoms in the first part of March. Blooming and fruiting season continues for several months into Summer. The delicious cherry, beautiful dark red to purple, produced soon after flowering. When ripe the the fruit can turn almost black and have a full cherry-like flavor. The plan is ideal for limited space landscapes since it can be kept as a bush or even as a container specimen and still produce adequate quantities of fruit. A relatively hardy plant, it can tolerate as low as low 20's F when mature.

Lancetilla is Central American Mango. One of the largest mango fruit, up to 5 pounds. Excellent flavor. Ripe fruit are blood red, fiberless. Semi-dwarf tree. Fruit ripens August-September.

This mango is a cross of a Kent and Bombay and inherited the finest features of each variety: the large size and gorgeous yellow/red color of the Kent; and the excellent, exotic flavor of the Bombay. 'Jakarta' is a virtually fiberless selection of good eating quality and consistent production. When fully ripe the skin will turn deep orange to red and display numerous white dots. Consistent producer. To determine when to pick, look for yellowing on lower half of fruit. Relatively cold hardy variety.

'Mallika' is a condo mango native to India. It is considered among the best of the new generation of Indian dessert mangos. The bright yellow fruit are a flattened oblong shape, with a rounded base and an irregular, non-waxy skin, and weigh from 10 to 18 oz. When properly ripened, the pasty, but completely fiber-free flesh is a deep orange, with an intensely sweet, rich and highly aromatic flavor with hints of citrus and melon. Fruit are harvested mature-green, before they break color on the tree and should be stored at a temperature of not less than 70F for 2 to 3 weeks for proper ripening. In this manner their ultimate eating quality will be achieved. The fruit can be refrigerated after complete ripening, but not before. Although best consumed out-of-hand, 'Mallika' also excels in juices and as dehydrated slices, with a distinctive honey flavor. The fruiting season is from late June to July. The tree is semi-dwarf and moderately vigorous, making it a great cultivar for pot culture. It has become a favorite due to its superb flavor, unparalleled disease resistance, and small but extremely productive habit.

Graham is a descendant of Julie selected in Trinidad. he tree is naturally compact, and with annual pruning perfect for the space-limited backyard or container culture. The fruit are oval, with a flattened base and a rounded apex, ranging in weight from 16 to 29 oz, with an average of 13 lb. The stem is petite and set in a shallow depression, reminiscent of Julie. The fruit ripen from mid-July to August to a bright yellow, rarely with a slight pink blush. The skin is thick and tough and tolerant of rough handling. The flesh is completely fiberless, deep orange, soft and juicy with a sweet, rich and aromatic flavor. During the late summer, a finer-flavored mango would be hard to locate. Graham is similar to Julie, both in its growth habit, and fruit shape. The tree, however, grows better in moist, humid conditions, typical in South Florida. The tree is compact, and with annual pruning can be maintained with a size and spread of 8 ft or less, perfect for the space-limited homeowner. The fruit are larger than Julie and fruiting is more dependable. There will be less headaches in growing a Graham and more time eating this fruit.

Lonicera heckrottii - Everblooming Pink Honeysuckle. Also referred to as Lonicera periclymenum Serotina. A hybrid between Lonicera x americana and Lonicera sempervirens. It is valued for the long blooming period and the bright colors of its flowers - bright pink-and-yellow. Cold hardy, drought resistant.

Variety Lula is renowned for its ability to endure harsh winters, and for its exceptionally long harvesting period. More frost resistant than most, successful in Central and South Florida where it is a formerly the leading commercial cultivar. An exceptional choice for homeowners around Orlando and Central Florida. The fruit is pear-shaped, sometimes with a neck, medium-large, the skin almost smooth. Flesh is pale to greenish-yellow. Thornless Euphorbia. This semi-succulent shrub blooms all summer with bright red flowers in pairs with yellow centers. With wider leaves than Euphorbia millii and no spine, it prefers semi-shade and likes more moisture than other similar Euphorbias. Collectible item. Low growing specimen. Can be used for bonsai.
