Avocado Nishikawa

Nishikawa Avocado
Hawaiian Nishikawa gourmet variety of Avocado fruit resembles Hass variety fruit, but much larger. Has very high oil content. Vigorous and upright growing tree.

Yamagato Avocado
According to University of Hawaii consumer poll, Yamagata was selected as one of the best  Hawaiian cultivars. Yamagata variety is very early. It ripens in Florida in March-April when no other varieties produce fruit. Fruit is large, pear-shaped, with a small seed and green skin. It's a very fine, gourmet Hawaiian avocado named for agriculture specialist Heiji Yamagata, who develeoped it.  Medium to low cold hardiness. Very vigorous and upright growing tree.

Local Florida variety originated in Wauchula, which is cold place, comparing to South Florida. This variety survived winter of 2009 in Wauchula, when temperature dropped to low 20F, without any significant damages. Very unusual medium size fruit - round yellow and smooth skin; creamy-yellow flesh.

Carambola var Kari was developed at the University of Hawaii. Sweet, juicy, rich-flavored fruits. Yellow-orange when ripe. More round shape with less green-edged wing, when traditional varieties.

Carambola var Sri Kembangan
Thai variety with elongated fruit, 5-6 inches long, bright yellow-orange flesh, very sweet and juicy. Firm flesh and few seeds.

 

Stingray Alocasia

This very fast growing and easy care plant is an unusual looking Alocasia. It originates from Thailand. The rounded leaves have the normal lobed rear but come to a long point and truly resemble the body of a stingray complete with tail. Grows  to 6 feet  Dying back in colder climate. This still doesn't kill it.  According to different sources it's hardy to Zone 8 or 9.
