Castor Oil Plant, Aralia. Small tree with large, leathery, palmately 7- to 11-lobed leaves, produced mainly at the branch tips, and compound umbels, to 12 in (30 cm) across, of small, creamy white flowers borne in autumn, followed by clusters of usually spherical black fruits.
Temperature of germination: 59-70F.

  2986 Laurus nobilis - seeds
Bay Leaf, Bay Laurel. Bay trees can be wonderfully ornamental and may be trained to give a the desired appearance. In warmer zones it can reach 20' yet it may be pruned and kept quite small and is able to grow indoors where you really can pluck the aromatic leaves. The leaves are used in cooking, perfumery and in medicine. Whole leaves are often used in cooking and crushed or ground leaves can be used for extra strength.
Plant at a depth of 3/4" using well draining soil mixture. Be careful to not keep the soil wet or the seeds may rot. Water only when your soil is dry to a depth of 1/2". Provide bright light and warmth.

Swiss cheese plant. A jungle climbing relative of the philodendron from Mexico and Guatemala. It is seen in gardens in tropical and subtropical areas, growing well in partial sun or shade. The plant begins bearing after three years. The large deep green, cone-like fruit is actually an unripened flower spike, covered with hexagonal scales that dry out and separate as the fruit ripens from the base upwards, revealing the white pulp. It takes a little longer than a year to mature to an edible stage.

Wampee, Wampi. Distant relative of the citrus fruits. A fully ripe, peeled wampee fruit, of the sweet or subacid types, is agreeable to eat out-of-hand, discarding the seeds. The pulp can be added to fruit cups, gelatins or other desserts, or made into pie or jam. The Chinese say that if one has eaten too many lychees, eating the wampee "will counteract the bad effects. Lychees should be eaten when one is hungry, and wampees only on a full stomach".
