Thunbergia battiscombei Family: Acanthaceae Bengal Clock Vine, Blue Trumpet Vine, Blue Sky vine, Scrambling sky flower, Blue Glory Origin: Tropical Africa ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The most striking blue flowered vine in the world, with a robust and twining habit producing long hanging clusters of 3" sky blue funnel shaped flowers from fall through spring, displayed throughout it's dense deep green foliage. Can be trellised or arbored to create a spectacular sight! Hardy to freezing. Toothed leaves and blue pendant flowers throughout summer. Looks majestic trained across a conservatory roof. Grows fast in warm weather, easily covering a trellis or large section of fence in one season. It is one of the most free flowering vines for shade in the South and is underused due to lack of distribution. Outdoors as a perennial, plant alongside cannas, interspersed with ferns and hostas, or near a water feature. Use as a house plant in zones where the ground freezes. The gorgeously showy flowers flowers resembling morning glory and lush foliage make this a choice addition to any garden. |
