Family: Malvaceae Houhere, Lacebark, Ribbonwood Origin: New Zealand ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The 3-6 recognised species of Hoheria are endemic to New Zealand, in late summer are covered in masses of starry white flowers. Leaves are glossy green, or grey-green, and, in juveniles, often deeply toothed. They require a mild, damp, climate. They are tolerant of most soils, but may not succeed on a heavy clay. Propagation may be by seed, cuttings, or layering. |
